Castlevania 2 NES is a sequel that many remember with fond memories, as it greatly expanded on the platforming gameplay of the first game with interesting new RPG elements and a much larger overall quest.
However, the Nerd is not a fan in this first debut video, as you can see above (it's all a joke however, he made a sequel video called "Castlevania II" in which he talks seriously about how good the game is).
This debut episode of his series was originally part of a larger short film compilation made by James Rolfe (aka The Nerd) and containing other videos he created, called the "Cinemassacre Gold Collection". These were released on VHS tape(!) before the advent of youtube (and before The Nerd was convinced by his friend Mike Matei to create a youtube account called "JamesNintendoNerd"), in a four-tape set. The video itself was produced and published exclusively on Cinemassacre.com and was only available there initially, published under the title "Bad NES Games".
This debut episode was actually made way back in 2004, and was meant to be only one of two or so videos, the other being Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde... because he considered that game to be his worst and one of the worst games ever made. However the video proved to be popular, and eventually this hook became what would make The Nerd an internet sensation and eventually internationally famous. The rest, as they say, is history!
You can legally purchase a hardcopy of this episode as part of Gametrailers.com/MTV's "The Angry Video Game Nerd: Volume 1" DVD set, containing episodes 1-17. Buy it and support the Nerd!
